Let alone

 

used to emphasize that something is more impossible than another thing:

 

~는 커녕, ~은 말할 것도 없이 (어떤 것이 다른 것보다 더 불가능함을 강조할 때 사용)

 

 

Example)

 

Who our age gets married, let alone widowed?

 

누가 우리 나이에 과부가 되기는 커녕 결혼을 합니까?

 

 

You shouldn’t trust her to look after your dog, let alone your baby.

 

그여자말이라면 네 아기는 커녕 개를 돌봐주겠다는 말도 믿지마.

 

 

5-year-old kids can’t reach the pedals, let alone drive the car.
